In 2015, we signed Gonzalo ‘ZeRo’ Barrios to play for TSM in the competitive Smash 4 scene. At the time, ZeRo was already in the Smash 4 spotlight, having been on an incredible tournament win streak that would eventually end with 56 straight 1st place finishes - a world record and one of his career’s crowning achievements. By his retirement at the end of 2017, he had been ranked as the #1 Smash 4 player for four years in a row and become a popular fan favourite.
With all this being said, it is with great sorrow that we announce ZeRo’s decision to depart from TSM. He has achieved so much while with us, upholding the TSM name and it is extremely unfortunate to have to see him leave due to the current circumstances. The past few years of working with ZeRo have been a great pleasure for us, and it has been nothing short of incredible to witness his domination of the Smash 4 scene.
Farewell, ZeRo! We wish you the best of luck for your future. You’ll be missed dearly at TSM, and you’ll always have a home with us!
"TSM has been like a second family to me and they have really gone far and beyond to help me settle and live in the USA and be there for me these past 3 years. I'll always be grateful to them for that and all the TSM fans that have supported me with open arms which I love very much as well. I'm amicably departing so I can pursue other avenues in my career but I will still remain the same way I was before I joined: A TSM fan."
